Building Community Through Music
The Bell County Youth Orchestra (BCYO) is a non-profit community-based orchestra program for students in grades 1 through 12 who play string instruments and want to enhance their musical skills in a supportive, ensemble setting.
Students come together from Killeen, Harker Heights, Copperas Cove, Lampasas, Belton, Morgan’s Point Resort, and Temple to collaborate on fun and challenging musical works. Whether a beginner or an experienced player, every student finds a place to learn, grow, and belong.
We offer:
Three concerts per year featuring diverse and exciting repertoire.
Fellowship events such as Painting with a Twist painting night, Game & Food Night, and Post-Concert Dinners that help build friendships offstage, too.
Volunteer performances for students to give back musically.
At BCYO, we create community around music where students thrive in both musicianship and friendship.
Music offers young people a way to express themselves, challenge their minds, and connect to others.
Our mission is to:
Provide high-quality ensemble experiences that strengthen musicianship and confidence.
Encourage community involvement through public performances.
Foster lifelong friendships through shared musical experiences.
